The 10th Anniversary of the XFC and the first one I participated in! One of the most popular and successful freestyle airplanes of all time made it's production version competition debut at this XFC. The Extreme Flight 104" Extra made it's presence known with not only a podium finish but two other top 7 finishes and more throughout the remaining results. I entered this XFC by submitting a video to the XFC staff a few months prior. That video included me flying a four minute freestyle with some of the 2011 XFC known maneuvers incorporated as well. My goal for 2012 was to finish in the top 7 so that I could receive the automatic invite for the following year. After the first day of competition I was in 7th place. I definitely knew that I had room for improvement because I didn't feel like I flew to my potential that day. After placing 3rd in a couple rounds the following day, I was able to move up to 5th overall before the finals. On Sunday, the level of flying was very high and there were very few mistakes made by the finalists. I was able to hold on to my 5th place position to achieve my goal plus a couple spots in 2012.
