The 2015 XFC was the final XFC held at the AMA site in Muncie, Indiana. New this year was the addition of unknown maneuvers to the known round. Each round had a new unknown maneuver and they were introduced each morning of the contest. I flew two Extreme Flight 104" Extras. One was dedicated to the known and freestyle rounds, and the other for the smack rounds. The smack rounds are always very risky on the airframe so I figured it would be a good idea to not risk the plane that I had dialed in for the known maneuvers and fly a different plane for the smack. This plan worked out well the previous year in 2014 as well. Although I didn't quite score as well as I had hoped (especially coming off a 1st place finish in 2014), the airplanes performed excellent and I was able to get into the competition rhythm before the upcoming Tucson Aerobatic Shootout in October. Huge congrats to Gabriel Altuz for winning his first XFC after so many years of podium finishes!
