I've attended the Del Norte Fly Fest in Torreon, Mexico in years past. Thankfully, I was invited back again for 2023, and they had made an excellent addition to the event to bring in more international pilots, spectators, and notoriety to the event! The Mexico Deathmatch Freestyle brought in some of the best pilots from around the world for a 4 day long freestyle competition consisting of 8 total rounds! One major part of the format of this contest was the fact that zero rounds were thrown (dropped) throughout the entire contest, hence the name Deathmatch. This created zero margin for error and a strict necessity for consistency throughout the event! To ensure that I had the best possible opportunity, we figured it would be a smart idea to figure out a way to fly my own airplane. We ended up driving the Flex Edge 540 all the way to Laredo, TX and back home in one day! Huge thanks to my dad for assisting in that trip, along with Rodolfo Reyes from Mexico for coming to pick up the airplane and take it across the border! Additionally, huge shoutout to Alberto Mata for flying it to San Antonio in a Pilatus PC-12 after the contest! I want to thank God for this opportunity, my family for their help and support, and all my sponsors! It was a fantastic showing for Flex Innovations, especially with it being their first ever international freestyle competition! Everyone flew extremely well, and it was great to see all the flying styles as always! Final results: 1. Jase Dussia - USA 2. Andi Wildauer - Austria 3. Martin Brandmuller - Austria 4. Sacha Cecconi - Italy 5. Yuhei Suzuki - Japan 6. Benja Stegmayer - Argentina 7. Ricardo Lomeli - Mexico 8. Jorge Berra - Mexico 9. Guillermo Lomeli - Mexico 10. Miguel Alcala - Mexico 11. Juan Salido - Mexico 12. Juan Bermudez - Mexico 13. Kanpai Larnlua - Thailand
